Idea Lab is a central location to add ideas for product enhancements and feature requests, vote for priority, and comment on other’s suggestions to help improve Foundant products.
Create an Idea Lab Account
- Navigate to the Idea Lab home page.
- Click sign in in the upper right corner.
- Click Create an account.
- Follow the on-screen prompts for account setup.
- Click on the Foundant product Idea Lab to begin your exploration and participation.
Utilize Idea Lab
Access the Idea Lab to search for, view, and add ideas to help improve Foundant products to suit the needs of your organization. Development teams consistently monitor Idea Lab suggestions and communicate what they are working on with the following status updates:
- Proposed
- Under Consideration
- Feedback Needed
- Planned
- Implemented
- Archived
- Not Planned
- Escalated
- Product Education
When submitting an idea to Idea Lab, be descriptive with with what you are trying to solve and provide an example of a use case.
Status Definitions
Proposed
When the Product team receives an idea, it is moved to the proposed status where users can comment and vote for it.
Under Consideration
An idea is moved to under consideration status if it is being considered or reviewed by the product and engineering teams for a future enhancement. Ideas in this stage are moved to planned status about 50% of the time. If the idea is not moved forward, it will be moved back to proposed or not planned statuses where they may be moved back into under consideration status at a later date.
Feedback Needed
An idea in feedback needed status requires additional feedback and information from product users. Members of the product team will reach out for feedback through an email or post in Idea Lab.
Planned
An idea in planned status has been selected by our product and engineering teams as an enhancement that will be released in the next one to six months. Ideas in this status are implemented about 90% of the time.
Implemented
An idea in implemented status has been released as an enhancement in the product. Implemented ideas may differ from the original submission based on user feedback and engineering requirements.
Archived
Ideas more than six months old with a low number of user votes may be moved into the archived status. Users will be notified if their idea is moved to this status.
Not Planned
Ideas are moved to not planned status if the product team has reviewed the idea and determined implementation is not a priority within the next three years.
Escalated
Ideas are moved to escalated status if the idea represents an issue resulting from an error or workflow not operating as designed. The idea/issue will be transferred to Foundant’s Support team and marked as closed.
Product Education
Ideas are transferred to product education status if the idea is a request to update resources in Support Hub. Once the updates are completed the idea/request will be marked as closed.
Troubleshooting Idea Lab
Idea Lab may have trouble loading due to plug-ins installed on your web browser. Try one of the following:
- Use a different web browser than the one currently being used to access Idea Lab. Firefox, Edge, Safari, or Chrome are browser suggestions.
- Open a private/incognito window in the current web browser.
