Custom fields record additional information about grant opportunities. Commonly added custom fields include the following:
- Program/Service
- Fiscal Year for Grant
- Link to Application
- PI (Principal Investigator)
- This is the person in charge of a specific program for which the grant is needed.
- Primary Contact
- Match/No Match
- Program Code
- This could be a checkbox list of codes.
- Award Details
- This could be a checkbox list of requirements such as quarterly report, final report, etc.
- This field can then be added as a column on the Grant Opportunities page to filter the list to view grants with a certain requirement.
- Working Document
- This can capture the link to a working document, such as in Google Drive, for collaborating on the application.
It is recommended to provide as much clarity and detail as possible in a custom field label and instructions. This is helpful in the event of staff turnover.
