Grant Types and Statuses

Grant opportunity types and statuses are selected when adding or editing a grant opportunity. Grant opportunity types allow for reporting and filtering grants based on the classification of the funding opportunity. These types can be customized on the Types & Statuses page. For example, additional types to add might include government grant, community foundation grant, and United Way grant.  

Grant opportunity statuses determine the current stage for each grant, which is also helpful for reporting and filtering. The full list of these statuses can be viewed on the Types & Statuses page, but the status options cannot be customized. To track additional statuses, Opportunity Custom Fields can be created.

Add or Edit Grant Opportunity Types

1. Navigate to Grants and click Types & Statuses on the navigation bar.
2. Click Edit.
   
   
   • To add a new type, enter the type in the Add Type field, and then click the plus icon.
     
     
3. Edit existing types as needed.
   
   
4. Click Save.
