There are two customizable messages you can update for applicants. One is used to warn the applicants of existing requests within the system, and the other is to inform the applicant that they have entered an invalid access code.
Warn Applicant of Existing Request Message
When enabled, the Warn Applicants of Existing Request setting is designed to help prevent an applicant from creating more than one request in the same process.
This is a site-wide setting, meaning it will be in effect for all processes in the site if enabled. When enabled, this setting has the following effects for an applicant who has already created a request in a process:
- On the Apply page, the Apply button for the process in which they have already created a request will appear as a grey button rather than a blue button.
- This is meant to discourage the applicant from clicking the button again, but they can still click it and start a new request if they choose to do so.

- If the applicant does click the Apply button for the process, they will see a warning message informing them that they already have a request in the process.
- The message displays the status for the request and provides a link for them to access it.
- They also have the option to click Apply which allows them to continue with creating a new request in the process.

Invalid Access Code Warning Message
If an administrator provides an applicant with the access code for a restricted visibility process, the process appears on the applicant's Apply page once they enter the code. If they enter an invalid access code, the system by default displays the message shown below.
