This video introduces you to the learning tools available in your Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) or Scholarship Lifecycle Manager (SLM) site. This includes Foundant Courses, the Help Menu, and more.
- The Live site is the organization's system of record.
- The Sandbox site is used to practice functionality before making changes in the Live site. It is important to keep the link to the Sandbox site by bookmarking it. There are three main reasons to retain access to the Sandbox site:
- Accessing training material - The training courses are housed solely in the Sandbox site. As a result, if a refresher on a course is needed, this is the only way to access it. Additionally, if there are new team members in the system, creating their accounts in the Sandbox site will help them access the training material.
- Creating new programs/processes from scratch - The Sandbox site provides a safe place to conduct building and testing of new programs/processes and workflows. Knowing that fake information and fake accounts can be created without disrupting data in the Live site will help keep both sites clean and functional. Once testing in the sandbox is finished, processes, forms, and email templates from the Sandbox site can be copied into the Live site; and similarly, Live site processes, forms, and email templates can be copied into the Sandbox site.
No request, organization, or user data can be synced between sites.
- Testing out new functionality - As new releases and features roll out, not all content will be applicable to all clients. The Sandbox site is a great space to test out new functionality and find out how it impacts your workflows.
