Profile Custom Fields in CRM record additional information about profiles. These fields can be a powerful tool to address specific scenarios and for reporting and tracking information.

Create a Custom Field
- Navigate to CRM.
- Click Profiles on the navigation bar, and then click Profile Custom Fields.
- Click Add Custom Field.
- Enter the applicable Create Custom Fields information, and then click Create Custom Field.
- Label, Type, and Profile Type are required fields.
- Label - Displays the custom field's name.
- Instructions - Directions necessary for completing the custom field.

Type - Determines how the information for the custom field will be captured. There are four types.

Text Box - An open-ended way of capturing specific information.
- A text box type could also act as a note for the profile; however a notes section is already provided.
- Dropdown - Allows the selection of one predetermined option.

Checkbox List - Allows the selection of multiple predetermined options.
- Examples: Donor status, member status, volunteer interest, or first time visitor status.
- Date - Allows the selection of month, day, and year.

Text Box - An open-ended way of capturing specific information.
- Required - Check this box if the custom field will be required for the profile.

Profile Type - The profile type on which this custom field should display.
- Multiple profile types can be selected.

Designation Types - Assign the custom field to one or more specific designations.
- The custom field will appear on the corresponding designation tab for the profile.
- For example, a custom field capturing information about event attendance could be added specifically to profiles with the attendee designation type.

Add Custom Fields to a Profile
- Navigate to CRM.
- Click Profiles on the navigation bar, and then click All Profiles.
- Click the profile name.
- Click Edit on the Profile tab.
- Enter the applicable custom field information, and then click Save.
- Only custom fields that are set for the selected profile type will display below the profile details.
Edit and View a Custom Field
- Navigate to CRM.
- Click Profiles on the navigation bar, and then click Profile Custom Fields.
- Click the custom field label.
- Click any column header to sort or type the name into the search bar.
- Click any column header to sort or type the name into the search bar.
- Click Edit.
- Edit the custom field, and then click Update.
- The custom field Type cannot be edited. If the custom field type needs to be changed, create a new custom field.
Inactivate Profile Custom Fields
When a custom field is inactivated, it will no longer be visible when creating or viewing a profile.
Inactivate from the Profile Custom Fields Page
- Navigate to CRM.
- Click Profiles on the navigation bar, and then click Profile Custom Fields.
- Click the Status toggle of the custom field to be inactivated.
- When a custom field is inactivated, the custom field will be removed from the list of active custom fields.
- When a custom field is inactivated, the custom field will be removed from the list of active custom fields.
Inactivate within the Custom Field
- Navigate to CRM.
- Click Profiles on the navigation bar, and then click Profile Custom Fields.
- Click the custom field label of the custom field to be inactivated.
- Click Edit.
- Click the Status toggle.
- When the toggle is clicked, the custom field automatically inactivates.
