Opportunities are individual pieces that build the foundation of your organization's fund development strategy and can be tracked for one or more profiles. There are two types of opportunities that you can create within NonprofitCore, Fundraising and Grantseeking.
Below is a brief overview of the opportunity process in NonprofitCore, along with linked resources that provide detailed information for how the opportunity process works. There are three steps you'll take when setting up your opportunities:
- Configure your opportunities.
- Create your opportunities.
- Customize your opportunities.
Step 1 - Opportunity Configurations
When creating Fundraising or Grantseeking opportunities, you'll be asked to select a type and status for your opportunity. Opportunity Configurations provides detailed information on how to set up types and statuses.
Step 2 - Create Your Opportunities
Once opportunity configurations have been set, start creating your opportunities. Create an Opportunity provides detailed, step-by-step instructions of how to set up an opportunity, and the differences between Fundraising and Grantseeking opportunities.
Step 3 - Customize Opportunities
Customize your opportunities based on your organization's needs. Opportunity Options provides detailed information on how to edit opportunity details, set default opportunity settings within NonprofitCore Accounting, and create custom fields for your opportunities that display additional information about each opportunity.
In NonprofitCore Fundraising, every fundraising opportunity can have a unique donation form. Opportunity Donation Form provides instructions for customizing this form.
After you have completed the process of configuring, creating, and customizing your opportunities within NonprofitCore you can start setting up your donation hub. Create a Donation Hub provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your donation hub.
- Fundraising opportunities are the only opportunities that have a unique donation form and can be promoted on the donation hub.
