Once you have created your opportunities using the step-by-step instructions in Create an Opportunity, there are different action options you can perform on your opportunities.
The opportunity options are:
- Edit an opportunity
- Copy an opportunity
- Set default settings for an opportunity
- Create, edit, and archive opportunity custom fields
Edit an Opportunity
- Navigate to Fundraising and click Opportunities from the navigation bar.
- Click the Opportunity you wish to edit.
- When viewing an opportunity, a progress bar is shown at the top of the page. The progress bar shows revenue totals towards this opportunity. The revenue total only reflects posted revenue.

- Click Edit in the top-right corner of the opportunity details area.
- Click the opportunity fields to edit them, attach additional profiles or profile lists, and view other data related to the selected opportunity.
- When editing an opportunity, you can include an opportunity image. This image will appear next to the opportunity name.

- Click Update to save any changes to the opportunity details.
- Click Donation Form.
- From this page, the donation form for this opportunity can be customized. Opportunity Donation Form provides instructions on how to set up and edit an opportunity's donation form.
- The Copy Code Snippet button copies this opportunity's donation form snippet, so it can be embedded on your website. Embed Your Donation Hub provides detailed instructions for embedding an opportunity code snippet.
Copy an Opportunity
- Navigate to Fundraising and click Opportunities from the navigation bar.
- Click the Opportunity you wish to copy.
- Click Copy Opportunity.
- Enter a name for the new opportunity, and then click Copy Opportunity.
- You will be redirected to the new opportunity's profile page. From here, you can make any edits to the new opportunity.

Set Default Settings for an Opportunity
- Navigate to Accounting.
- Click Settings from the Accounting navigation menu.
- Find the opportunity you wish to set the default settings for under the Opportunity column.
- Select the default revenue account from the drop-down menu for your opportunity.

Once a default revenue account has been selected, it cannot be removed for an opportunity.

- Select the default service for your opportunity.

Once you have selected a default service, you cannot remove it from the opportunity.

- Toggle the switch if you would like donations made through the donation hub for an opportunity to automatically post to the ledger.

When the setting is toggled off for an opportunity, revenue will still be created for online donations, but will need to be manually posted on the Revenue page.

For a donation to automatically post, all required information must be filled out on the revenue record.

Opportunity Custom Fields
Custom fields display when creating or viewing opportunities, allowing you to record additional information about each opportunity.
Create Custom Fields
- Navigate to Fundraising.
- Click Custom Fields from the Fundraising navigation menu.
- Click Create Custom Field.
- Enter the following information for the Custom Field, then click Create Custom Field.
- Label (Required)
- Instructions for completing this field.
- Example - "Select the category that best describes this fundraising event."
- Type (Required)
- Example- Text Box, Dropdown, Checkbox List, Date
- Opportunity Type (Required)
- Opportunity type for which this custom field should appear.
- Examples can include - Annual Campaign, Capital Campaign, Event, and Grant.
- Opportunity type for which this custom field should appear.
- Required
- If this box is checked for Required, each time an opportunity (of the specified type) is created, this field will need to be completed.
- If this box is checked for Required, each time an opportunity (of the specified type) is created, this field will need to be completed.
Edit Opportunity Custom Fields
- Navigate to Fundraising.
- Click Custom Fields from the Fundraising navigation menu.
- Click the Custom Field you wish to edit.
- Click the fields to edit them, and then click Update.
Archive Opportunity Custom Fields
- Navigate to Fundraising.
- Click Custom Fields from the Fundraising navigation menu.
- Locate the Custom Field and toggle the Active button off for the custom field you wish to archive.
- The custom field will turn gray to indicate that it has been archived.
