Pearl Migration: Database Backup and Migration

Making a copy of your Community Pearl database is the first step in converting your data over to Community Suite.

1. Log into your Community Pearl icon to connect to the database.
2. Click File.
   
   
   
3. Click Save As.
   
   
   
4. Click Save Database As and then click Back Up Database.
   
   
   
5. Click Save As. 

Once the regular save dialog appears, save the file in a backup directory in a different location than the normal file. Make a note of the location and file name as you will need it again. At this point, you are done in Pearl, and the next steps will be done in CommunitySuite.

Upload the File to CommunitySuite

1. Login to your Live site in CommunitySuite.
2. Click System Data from the Home page. 
   
   
   
3. Click Files in the left-side menu.
   
   
   
4. Click Create in the left-side menu.
   
   
   
5. Click Choose Files to select the backup file you saved, fill in the Description, and click Start Upload.
   • This will migrate your backup Pearl database into CommunitySuite.
