The Eligibility Quiz feature allows a form can be added as the initial stage of one or more processes, which determines applicants' eligibility to apply to those processes. The rules configured for each process using an eligibility quiz determine if an applicant is or is not eligible to apply within the process.
The general workflow for configuring the eligibility quiz feature is as follows:
- Build the eligibility quiz, and then add it to each applicable process.
- Build and test eligibility rules for each process.
- When the grant or scholarship cycle is ready to open, activate the eligibility quiz in each process and toggle each process on.
Eligibility Quiz Overview Video
This video provides a brief overview of the eligibility quiz feature.
Add an Eligibility Quiz
The first step in configuring this feature is to add an eligibility quiz to each applicable process. In many cases, the same eligibility quiz is added to multiple processes. Applicants then fill out one eligibility quiz, and the system checks their eligibility for each process containing that quiz.
A failure message can be customized for the eligibility quiz. This message will display for applicants who are not found eligible for any processes.
Build and Test Eligibility Rules
While the same eligibility quiz can be added to multiple processes, the eligibility rules are built specifically for each process. These are the rules the system will use to check an applicant's eligibility for each process once they submit the eligibility quiz.
For scholarship processes, the rules might be related to requirements for applicants' GPA, county of residence, extracurricular activities, etc. For grant processes, the rules might be related to requirements for an organization's 501(c)(3) status, counties served, amount requested, etc.
Once the rules are built for each process, it is important to test them thoroughly before opening the quiz to applicants.
Eligibility Quiz Management
There are several components related to managing an eligibility quiz. Once ready for the grant or scholarship cycle to open, the eligibility quiz should be activated right before toggling on each process using the quiz.
The Eligibility Center is a key page for managing eligibility quizzes and results. As applicants complete the quiz, situations may arise in which their results need to be retested. This can be done within the Eligibility Center. In addition, eligibility quizzes can be activated or deactivated in a batch from this page, and a quiz can be reopened for one more applicants if needed.
When preparing to open a new grant or scholarship cycle utilizing the eligibility quiz feature, there are specific considerations. In addition to copying each process for the new cycle, the eligibility quiz must be copied and placed in front of the new processes as well.

When an eligibility quiz is active, applicants will see the option to take the quiz on their Apply page. After submitting the quiz, the system informs them of which processes they are eligible to apply. When they continue back to the Apply page, those processes are available for them to start a request.
