In Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) and Scholarship Lifecycle Manager (SLM), three settings are customizable for each process: Show Decision Status, Show Follow Ups with Decision Status, and Follow Up Submission Logic. These settings determine where to find these options and how defaults apply when a process is created or copied. These settings cannot be customized per universe or opportunity.
User Role: Administrator
When to Use Process Level Settings
Use Process Level Settings when:
- A process needs different decision status visibility than the Foundation wide default, for example an LOI stage that should not display decision status to applicants.
- A process needs different follow up submission logic than other processes in the site.
How Foundation Default and Process Level Settings Work
The following three settings can be customized Foundation wide or by process.
- Show Decision Status
- Show Follow Ups with Decision Status
- Follow Up Submission Logic
The Foundation wide default settings live in a section in Settings called Process Defaults. Process Defaults establishes the Foundation wide level for each setting, and each process inherits that value unless it is customized by process.
New Processes
When a new process is created, all three settings default to the values entered at the Foundation wide level on the Settings page.
Copied Processes
When you copy a process, these three settings copy from the source process instead of resetting to the Foundation wide default. You can still customize the copied process independently afterward.
Limitations
Show Decision Status, Show Follow Ups with Decision Status, and Follow Up Submission Logic cannot be customized per universe or opportunity in Universal Application (UA). These settings remain fixed for universe and opportunity workflows.
Customize Process Level Settings
To customize Process Level Settings for a process, update the settings on the Update Process page.
- Click Tools on the upper navigation bar, and then click Process Manager.
- Click the process name.
- Click Process Level Settings at the top of the page.
- Review the current value for each of the three settings.
- Update the settings as needed, and then click Save after any changes have been made.
The Process Level Settings page shows, for each setting, whether the current value is:
- Inherited - The value matches the Foundation wide setting.
-
Overridden - The value has been customized for this process.
Administrators can reset any overridden setting back to the Foundation wide value directly from this page by setting the value back to the Foundation default and clicking Save.
Click the process name to return back to the Update Process page.
The Change Log in the Process Summary records any updates made to the Process Level Settings. Edit the Process Summary provides more details.
