The Follow Up Auto Due Date feature, if configured, will automatically populate the follow up due date at the time of approval, so you do not have to manually add the due date. This article will walk you through the different auto due date options to automatically generate the follow up due date.

Not Using - This option allows administrators to proceed without creating a rule for assigning the follow up. The follow up can then be assigned at the request level after a grant or scholarship award.
- If there is no Auto Due Date set for the follow up on the process level with the hard deadline toggled on, any deadlines given to individual follow ups on the request level will be a soft deadline, and applicants will still be able to submit past the deadline.

The auto due date feature must be set up before approving requests. This feature will not allow for batch assigning of follow ups to approved requests.
Once follow up forms are assigned, their due dates are not affected by edits made to auto due date settings in the process. Due dates for assigned follow up forms can be edited individually from the Request Summary page or by clicking the pencil icon next to Hard Deadline in the Follow Ups stage. If assigned follow up forms are deleted and reassigned, the due dates will reflect the new auto due date settings in the process.
