When merging duplicate organizations in your Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) site, there are additional steps to take if more than one of the duplicates for a particular organization are synced with your CommunitySuite site. The Foundant icon next to an organization in your GLM site indicates that it is synced with your CommunitySuite site.
- Follow the steps in Merge Duplicate Organizations, but stop before clicking Merge Selected Organizations.
- A pinned comment will not merge with a synced organization.
- Click the Foundant icon next to one of the duplicates for an organization in the search results.
- This brings up the synced organization record in your CommunitySuite site. Follow the steps in Edit or Unlink CommunitySuite Profiles Synced with GLM/SLM to unlink the organization.
- Back in your GLM site, perform the duplicate search again to refresh the results. The CommunitySuite icon should no longer display next to the duplicate organization that was unlinked.
- Continue unlinking duplicates for this organization until only one duplicate is synced between the sites.
- Finish the steps in Merge Duplicate Organizations in your GLM site to merge the duplicates for this organization.

- The next step is to merge the duplicate profiles for this organization in your CommunitySuite site. Follow the steps for merging profiles in Manage Duplicate Profiles.
- If an error message displays after clicking Process, this indicates that the system was trying to merge the synced organization profile into the unsynced duplicate profile. Click Swap From/To so that the unsynced profile is merging into the synced profile, then click Process again.
- If an error message displays after clicking Process, this indicates that the system was trying to merge the synced organization profile into the unsynced duplicate profile. Click Swap From/To so that the unsynced profile is merging into the synced profile, then click Process again.
After completing these steps, there should be only one record for this organization in both your GLM and CommunitySuite sites, and it should be synced between the two sites.
