After creating a scholarship award and scheduling the payments, you can create scholarship checks. Each student awardee needs an up-to-date student number because the student name and their number will print on the check stub. This allows your foundation to write one check to a school for numerous student scholarship awards.
- Navigate to Scholarships page and click the Open Scholarships bucket.
- Click the Scholarship ID to be paid.
- Click [pay].
- The student awardee needs an up-to-date student number prior to the creation of the grant.

- Click the Charity Status Checked option.
- [guidestar charity check] - CommunitySuite integrates with Guidestar and runs a charity check to verify the nonprofit status of organizations.
- [manually checked] - Manually run a charity check.
- If No Charity Status Check is checked on the Grantee's profile, skip this step.
- Pay the scholarship.
- Pay a Scholarship Award - Post & Get Approval - This applies to all scholarships that have not been set to auto approve. The defined approvers must approve the grant before a voucher can be created.
- Pay a Scholarship Award - Auto Approval - Any scholarship that is set to auto approve will bypass the grant approval process and will move directly into an open voucher status.
- Pay the voucher.
- Print and post the check for the scholarship award.
Posted scholarship awards are available and can also be paid from Accounts Payable.
