Evaluations in Universal Application (UA) allow evaluators and board members to review and score scholarship applications based on criteria defined by the administrator. The evaluation process includes access to application materials, scoring forms, and tools for managing multiple evaluations efficiently.

Use Evaluations to:
- Review assigned scholarship applications and score applicants based on evaluation criteria
- Access application materials including forms, documents, and supplemental information
- Manage evaluations grouped by opportunity or by student
- Complete evaluation forms with questions that may be common across multiple opportunities or unique to specific scholarships
- Download application and evaluation packets for offline review

Complete an Evaluation
To complete an evaluation in Universal Application, log on to the site, locate the assigned evaluation, and fill out and save the evaluation form.

After logging into the site, navigate to the evaluation.
Evaluations are grouped either by opportunity or by students depending on the foundation's site settings. If the option is available, check Group by Student to switch the grouping. This affects the view only and does not impact how scores are calculated. Note that the scoring column is not visible when Group by Student is checked.
- Click Start, Continue, or Update next to the evaluation form.

Click the arrow icon to flip the order of the evaluation form and the application form. In most sites, you will see your evaluation form on one side of the screen and the application form on the other.
Some sites do not utilize this side-by-side view. In these cases, click the tab names to switch between your evaluation form and the application.

Several tools are available on the evaluation page to help review application materials before scoring. The assigned evaluation form for the scholarship request has several options available on this page.
Click any of the tabs (e.g. Documents) to read additional information about the request and applicant and any comments or documents the administrator has uploaded.
Click Application Packet to download a .pdf of the application.
Click Document Viewer to view all documents the applicant has uploaded as part of their form responses.
Click the eye icon to view an individual document uploaded by the applicant.
Click Evaluation Packet to download a .pdf of your evaluation form and responses.
Administrators can disable the ability to download print packets, files uploaded to Documents, or any file included in the form evaluators are assigned to evaluate in site settings.
Administrators can hide applicants' contact information, such as address, email address, and phone number, from evaluator view in site settings.
- Fill out the evaluation form questions, and then click Save.
- Required questions are indicated with an asterisk.
- If you are assigned to evaluate multiple applications for the same applicant, your responses to any evaluation questions that are common to some or all opportunities are shared across your evaluations for the applicant.
- A circular icon indicates a common evaluation question. Your response to this question for an individual applicant will be the same across all of that individuals’ requests that are assigned to you.
The system saves your work every 100 characters as you type or as you click out of a question. After saving, the confirmation page gives you the option to return to the same evaluation, go to your dashboard, or navigate to the next pending evaluation.
