Scholarship requests can be synced from Scholarship Lifecycle Manager (SLM) to CommunitySuite individually or in batch. A scholarship request must have an approved status in SLM before it can be synced, and cannot have any payments recorded in SLM.
Each scholarship being awarded to a student must be recorded as a separate request in SLM before syncing to CommunitySuite. If you have any questions about this, reach out to the Client Success Team before syncing requests.
Below is a reference for which scholarship information in SLM populates which fields in CommunitySuite, once the scholarship is processed. The SLM field is listed first and the corresponding CommunitySuite field second.
Decision Date and Award Date Integration Video
- This video is recorded in a GLM site and refers to the field as Grant Date. In SLM, the same field is referred to as the Award Date. The process is the same in both GLM and SLM.
- Decision Date = Decision Date
- This field is typically used as the date the scholarship was approved after evaluation, but you can choose any date that is helpful for your organization. This field can be edited in SLM and CommunitySuite.
- Award Date = Award Date
- The date of the General Ledger transaction or posting date. The award date has to be in an open financial period in CommunitySuite, meaning the books cannot be closed. This field cannot be edited in SLM once the request is synced, but it can be updated in CommunitySuite.
- Applicant = Student
- Amount Awarded = Scholarship Award Amount
- Installment Date = Payment Date
- Installment Amount = Payment Amount
- Payment Date = Check Date

Sync Requests From SLM to CommunitySuite in Batch
All Open Approvals Page
- Navigate to the All Open Approvals workload page and check the box for each request you want to sync.
- Click Batch Actions, and then click Send to CommunitySuite.
Once a scholarship request is synced from SLM to CommunitySuite, note the following:
- Other than the date field, installments can only be edited in CommunitySuite unless the Post by Payment option is selected in CommunitySuite for the scholarship.
- Unsyncing can be done in SLM until the scholarship has been processed in CommunitySuite. After that point, the scholarship must be unsynced in CommunitySuite if needed.
- The approved filter in CommunitySuite filters scholarships that were approved in CommunitySuite, not scholarships approved in SLM and then synced to CommunitySuite.
The next step is to process the scholarship in CommunitySuite. Details are available in Process Synced Scholarships.
