Special format question types restrict the type of response that a user can enter. This can help with consistency of data for reporting and can help ensure that you receive responses in the correct format.
Integer
An integer question only accepts whole number responses. Letters and symbols are not accepted.
Decimal
A decimal question accepts values with a specified number of digits after the decimal. The number of digits can be defined when building the question.
- When configuring a decimal question, a Require Right Digits checkbox is available. This option requires that a digit be placed on the right side of the decimal, but it does not require applicants to enter the specified number of digits that is configured for the question. For example, if the specified number of digits after the decimal is two, applicants can enter up to two digits but are not required to enter two digits.
Currency
A currency question accepts numbers with commas, decimal points, and a hyphen to make the amount negative. In reports, merge templates, and print packets, responses to currency questions automatically appear in a currency format (e.g. $25,000.00).
Date
A date question accepts a response in the MM/DD/YYYY format and allows the user to select a date from a calendar picker.
URL
A URL question accepts a response in a valid URL format. Once the URL is entered, click the URL icon to visit the website.
- Applicant Tutorial - Link to a Video details the steps for an applicant to link to a video in a URL question.
An email question accepts a response in a valid email format. Once the email is entered, click the email icon to start an email via your default email provider to the address. An email sent using this method will not be saved in your site's email history.
