Within the full Rich Text Editor, you have the option to add an image or add a hyperlink to text. The full rich text editor is available when editing process descriptions, opportunity descriptions in a universe, email templates, instructions in form questions, and several other locations. Follow the instructions in this article to add an image or a hyperlink to text.
The rich text editor that can be allowed for applicant responses on form questions does not include the option to add an image or a link to text. For more information on the rich text editor for form questions, refer to Allow Rich Text for Form Questions.
Link Text in the Rich Text Editor
- Highlight the text to which the link should be attached, and then click the chain icon.
- Enter the URL of the website or hosted document, and then click Insert.
Once the link is inserted, click the text to edit or remove the link.
Add an Image in the Rich Text Editor
- Place the cursor where the image should appear, and then click the image icon.
- Enter the URL of the image, and then click Insert.
- The image must be hosted online, such as on your foundation's website.
- Depending upon how the image was inserted into the website, it is often possible to right click on the image and click Copy Image Address to copy the image url.
- Image hosting services such as postimages.org can also be used to generate an image url.

Once added, click the image to access editing options.
- These options include aligning the image, inserting a link, and replacing or removing the image.
Format Text in the Rich Text Editor
- To edit the formatting of text, highlight the text, and then click one of the formatting buttons.
- Alternatively, click a formatting button and then type. After typing, click the formatting button again to stop using the formatting.
- To remove formatting, highlight the text, and then click the formatting button.

- To add ordered and unordered lists, place the cursor where the list should start. Then click the arrow next to the list button and select the list to add.
