Within the full Rich Text Editor, you have the option to add an image or add a hyperlink to text. The full rich text editor is available when editing process descriptions, opportunity descriptions in a universe, email templates, instructions in form questions, etc. Follow the instructions in this article to add an image or a hyperlink to text.
The rich text editor that can be allowed for applicant responses on form questions does not include the option to add an image or a link to text. For more information on the rich text editor for form questions, refer to Allow Rich Text for Form Questions.
Link Text in the Rich Text Editor
- Highlight the text to which you would like to attach the link, then click the chain icon.
- Enter the URL of the hosted document or website into the pop-up box, then click Insert.
- Once the text has a link attached, you may click the text to edit or remove the link.
Add an Image in the Rich Text Editor
- Place your cursor where you want the image to appear, then click the image icon.
- Enter the URL of the image, then click Insert.
- The image must be hosted online. For example, on your foundation's website.
- Depending on how the image was inserted into your foundation's website, you may be able to right click on the image and click Copy Image Address to copy the URL of the image.
- You may also use image hosting services such as postimages.org to generate an image URL.
- Click the image to access editing options.
- These options include aligning the image, inserting a link, and replacing or removing the image.
Formatting Text in the Rich Text Editor
An additional option within the rich text editor includes formatting the text. Below are some tips for utilizing the formatting tools.
- To edit the formatting of the text, highlight the text, and then click one of the formatting buttons (e.g. italics, bold, underline, or text color).
- You may also click one of the formatting buttons and then type to apply the formatting to the text. Once you have finished typing, click the formatting button again to stop using the formatting.
- To remove the formatting, highlight the text, and then click the formatting button that you previously clicked.
- To add ordered and unordered lists, place your cursor where you would like the list to start. Then click the arrow next to the list button, and select the list you want to add.
- Once you have typed in the first list item, press Enter on your keyboard to add another list item.
- You may also add a list to existing text. Highlight the text for which you would like to add a list, then click the arrow next to the list button, and then select the list you want to apply to the text.
- Once you have typed in the first list item, press Enter on your keyboard to add another list item.
