Supplemental questions in Universal Application (UA) are opportunity-specific questions that appear only for selected opportunities after applicants complete the common application.
If a supplemental question is configured for more than one opportunity, the applicant's response to that question carries across the other opportunities if they are eligible for those opportunities. Question branching and third party question groups can also be used for supplemental questions.

When to Use Supplemental Questions
Use supplemental questions to:
- Gather additional information relevant to particular scholarships based on applicant eligibility.
To add supplemental questions:
- Click Tools in the upper navigation bar, and then click Process Manager.
- Click the universe name.
- Click the Application tab.
- Click the pencil icon next to the application.
- Click Standard.
- Click the question type that will be used.

Configure the question.
- Click the Applicant Opportunities tab.
- Uncheck the Common Question box.
- Check one or more opportunities for this question.
- The question will appear for applicants found eligible for the opportunities selected.
- The question will appear for applicants found eligible for the opportunities selected.
- Click Save Question.
