You can add a filter to an individual item or to multiple items in your data visualization dashboards. You can manage your filters using the right-hand menu option or within an individual item.
If you are working with external filters keep in mind that you want to add columns/data from the SAME dataset as the item you want to filter it by. For example, if you are using a table that was created with the "GLM Approval" dataset, you will need to use data from that same dataset when creating an external filter.

Add a Filter to an Individual Item
This example is about how to add a filter to an existing item.
- Click the Data icon.
- Click Add filter.
- Click Add filter.
- Enter the filter criteria, and then click Apply filters.
- To add additional filters, click Add filter.
- The right-hand menu option, Filters, will show all of the filters in your dashboard.
- To add additional filters, click Add filter.
Add a Floating Filter to a Dashboard
Add a floating filter which applies to multiple items on the dashboard.
- Click Add Item.
- Click one of the Filter options.
- Drag and Drop a field from a dataset into the filter.
- Click the gear icon to include or exclude items from the filter.
- To exclude an item from the filter, click on a green item to turn it red which will exclude it from the filter.
- To include an item with the filter, click on the red item to turn it green which includes the item when using the filter.
- To exclude an item from the filter, click on a green item to turn it red which will exclude it from the filter.
- Configure settings on the filter by clicking the gear icon, and then updating any of the general fields in the right side menu. Depending on the filter you use, you can add a Title, Label, enable Multiselect, Search functionality, and Show clear selection. Other options may be available as well.
- After adding a filter, toggle on Title to name the item.
- Toggle on Multiselect to select multiple checkbox items within a filter.
Delete a Filter and Manage Filters
This example is how to delete a filter from an item. You can also use the right-hand menu option, Filters, to manage the filters on your dashboard.
- Click the Data icon.
- Click the filter button.
- Click the trash can icon next to the filter you want to delete.
- Click Apply filters.
- To manage all of the filters on your dashboard, click Filters in the right-side menu.
- Click the trash can icon next to a filter to delete it or click Add a filter to add new filters.
