Use the calendar filter in the Data Visualization Tool to define a custom fiscal year date range, save it with a label, and configure it to apply automatically each time the dashboard loads.

Set up a custom fiscal year filter
To set up a custom fiscal year date range in the Data Visualization Tool:
- Click Reporting in the upper navigation bar, and then click Data Visualization.
- Open the dashboard and click Add Item.
- Select Date Filter.

- Drag and drop the Decision Date field onto a slot.
- Click Select Range and select Custom Range.
- Hover over the Date filter box, and then click Settings in the right-side menu.
- Click any gear icon to open the settings pop-up.
- Adjust the fields in the Date Ranges box as you like. You can delete fields by clicking the Trash icon.
- Click Add range to add additional fields.
- Click the drop-down to view a list of what is available to configure.
- Scroll down and click Custom.
- This creates a filter within a filter. Click the date range and set it as your fiscal year.
- Click Apply.
- Confirm the dates are correct, and click add custom label.
- Click Save.
- When building a report, you can find your fiscal year filter by clicking Select a Range.
Apply the filter automatically on load
To configure the dashboard to apply the fiscal year filter automatically each time it opens:
- With the Fiscal Year Filter range selected, hover over the Date filter box and click Settings in the right-side menu.
- Toggle on Filter Initialization.
NOTE The Filter Initialization toggle applies all saved filters to the dashboard automatically on load. If multiple filters are saved, all will be applied by default.
The dashboard will now load with the fiscal year filter applied by default.
