The system allows your foundation to print physical check payments. Printed check are designed to fit in a windowed envelope unless a standard business envelope is desired.
- Navigate to the Checks page.
- Click Settings in the left-side menu.
- Click Edit Settings in the left-side menu.
- Select the format from the Check Printing Format drop-down menu, and then click Update.
Order Pre-Printed Checks
Format: Default (Quickbooks) and Quickbooks
This format corresponds with the QuickBooks software's check format and is set as the default check format in CommunitySuite. It shows the check at the top. Pre-printed checks can have lines or no lines.

- Deluxe sells custom checks that match the default formatting of CommunitySuite. You can order them from Deluxe's website.
Format: FIMS (check in the middle)
This format corresponds with the FIMS software's check format. It shows the check in the middle.

Format: 59085
This format corresponds with the check format of some other accounting software products. It shows the check at the top but with slightly different alignment than the QuickBooks format.

Test Check Alignment
It is recommended that check alignment be verified to ensure checks print correctly for your foundation. Check alignment can be tested by creating a money out item and then selecting check for the payment.
- Make a black and white photocopy of your check stock.
- Click Print Check in the left-side menu to generate a .pdf version of the check that can be downloaded or printed on check stock copy.
Custom Check Format
Alternatively, you can create and upload a custom check template. For more detail and instructions, see the articles Example Templates and Upload Templates. The custom check format setting requires a check template and will disable the CommunitySuite check formats. Check Settings provides more information.
- Navigate to the Checks page.
- Click Settings in the left-side menu.
- Click Edit Settings in the left-side menu.
- Check the box for Enable Check Templates, and then click Update.
