CommunitySuite creates new records for donors who give online when data is new or different in any of the following fields: first name, last name, phone, or email. Additionally, staff create profiles as they complete their work tasks, which may cause duplicate records to occur. Duplicate records can be deleted, edited, or merged as needed. It is recommended that you regularly scan your site for duplicate records.
Duplicate phone numbers do not flag duplicate profiles in the system if the profile names or emails differ. Additionally, when a group of duplicate profiles exist, based on name, email, or phone number, and all of the profiles have a unique address, these profiles will not be marked as duplicates. Any profiles that are in the merge queue will not display.
- Recurring donations created after a CommunitySuite product update on October 6, 2022 will not be affected by this action. Recurring donations created before that date will be broken by the merge and will need to be reconfigured.
