When a process is ready to start accepting requests, it is important that all questions on the forms appear and function as expected.
Refer to the information and additional resources below to ensure everything has been completed on the application form before applicants start submitting responses.
Question Labels
Confirm all questions have a descriptive and unique Label. This is important for reporting purposes as the labels will appear in report columns.
Character Counts for Text Box and Text Area Questions
If the application form contains Text Box or Text Area question types, confirm these questions have appropriate numbers entered in the Maximum Text Length field. A text box is used to capture short answers, typically no more than one sentence. A text area is used to capture longer, narrative responses.
Question Visibility
Confirm all questions have the Question Visibility marked as desired. There are several visibility options to choose from. Each of these options have different permissions for which users can view and complete the question.
Required Type
Confirm all questions have the Required Type marked as desired. The Required Type field determines if the question as it appears on the form is optional, required, or read only.
Convert Text Questions to Currency/Integer Questions
If you are using a text box or text area question type to collect a number or currency, consider converting this question to a currency or integer question type so you can aggregate this data in reporting. Although numeric characters are allowed in responses to these questions, it is important to ensure that the correct format is used when applicants submit their responses. More information on currency and integer questions is available in Question Types: Special Format Questions.
Contact Information
Confirm that you aren't asking applicants for contact information such as their name, phone, email, or address. This is collected during registration so it may not be necessary to request this information on the application.
Third Party Questions
If you are using a third party group, confirm the questions in this group are configured correctly with the visibility set to Everyone. If this visibility is selected within third party questions, it will become visible to all users except for applicants. Refer to Build Third Party Questions for more information.
Question Branching
If you are using question branching, confirm that the branching logic is correct and functioning as intended. Click the eye icon on the application stage to preview the form as an applicant and test the branching logic. Refer to Question Branching: Add a Branched Group for more information.
