Use the Reclass feature to move transactions from one general ledger account to another. Transactions in closed periods cannot be reclassed.
- Navigate to the Accounts page.
- Click the Account Number that contains the transactions to be reclassed.
- Click Transactions in the left-side menu.
- Enter the applicable Show Transactions information, and then click Show.
- Click Reclass in the left-side menu.
- Check the box for the transactions you want to reclass, and then click Next.
- Enter the reclass account name in the To Account field and select the account from the drop-down list.
- If the same account will be used for all selected transactions, then select the account from the uppermost drop-down list to apply it to all transactions.
- If the same account will be used for all selected transactions, then select the account from the uppermost drop-down list to apply it to all transactions.
- Click Do Reclass.
The system will create journal entries for the reclassed transactions and will reclass to the original transaction date, not the current date. The associated journal entry will be updated, but any voucher will not.
