Opportunities is a relationship and moves management tool used to track specific strategies for an individual, household, or organization. Each opportunity record is an individual project plan that enables you to move relationships forward through stages to build a strategy, with integrated tasks, communications, and report on success.
Who: Development teams, major gifts officers, planned giving staff, or any team member that manages strategic relationships with donors, financial advisors, or nonprofit partners.

Create Opportunity Types and Stages
Opportunity types can be used to organize goals and desired outcomes, while opportunity stages can be used to track progress in the opportunity lifecycle. Create management priorities and track their progress.

Assign Profiles to Opportunities
Profiles may be assigned to opportunities in bulk, or they can be created individually. Although opportunities may be created and profiles can be assigned to them in bulk, once a profile is added to an opportunity, it must be advanced through the stages individually. A single opportunity can be connected to multiple profiles, assignees, advisors, and beneficiaries. Existing opportunities can also be copied.

Manage Opportunities
Once opportunities have been assigned to profiles and task/note types have been set up, tasks can be added to opportunities to keep the relationship moving forward. Tasks can be assigned to anyone in your organization, and they will see the assigned task and due date on their list of tasks. Once one or more opportunities have been created and assigned to profiles, opportunity letters can be generated in a batch or individually.
Track Success Rates
If an opportunity results in a donation, pledge, or promise and is processed under the same profile record as the opportunity, these can be linked to the opportunity to enhance reporting options and to profile a full picture of the relationship life cycle.
When an opportunity is complete, use Mark Complete in the left-side menu to record whether the Opportunity was successful or not successful.
Import Opportunities
If an external system is being used to track relationship management, then this data can be imported.
