The Applicant Dashboard is the central hub where applicants manage their grant or scholarship requests, track form submissions, and take action on assigned tasks. Understanding the dashboard helps administrators and staff guide applicants through the request process. Detailed applicant tutorials can be found in Guiding Applicants Through the Process.

Step-by-Step Applicant Dashboard Tutorial
Use the tutorial below to walk through the applicant dashboard from the perspective of an applicant.
Upper Navigation Bar
There are several actions an applicant can take from the upper navigation bar.
- Click Home to navigate back to their dashboard.
- Click Apply to navigate to the Apply page where they can start a new request.
- Click the menu icon where a user can log out or edit their profile.
- Click Organization History to view other requests submitted by an applicant from their organization, any organization documents made available by an administrator, and other general information.
- This option is dependent upon your site settings. Detailed information on this setting can be found in Applicants' Ability to View Organization History.
- The Public Profile button on the Organization History page allows the applicant to view publicly available information about their organization from Candid and GreatNonprofits. More details are provided when they click this button.
The Apply Page
The Apply page can be accessed by clicking Apply. This page shows a list of available opportunities with details about each.
For processes using Restricted Visibility, applicants can enter an access code into the search bar.
Each opportunity on the Apply page displays a status indicating whether the applicant can apply, has already applied, or is not yet eligible.
Check Eligibility - Interested applicants must complete the eligibility quiz before applying for this opportunity.
Eligible - The applicant has completed the eligibility form and is eligible to apply.
Apply - This opportunity is ready to be applied to. Applicants have the option to preview the application or begin it by clicking Apply.
Applied - The applicant has submitted their application for this opportunity.
Closed - The due date for this opportunity has passed and applicants can no longer apply.
Once a request has been applied for, the Apply page card retains the initial creation date even after the request status changes. The date shown on the card is the creation date, not the submission date.
On the Applicant Dashboard homepage, the Submitted date reflects the date the request was submitted.
To Do Panel
The To Do panel of the applicant dashboard displays actions that can be taken on any active or collaboration requests assigned to the applicant. It contains two tabs: Assigned To You and Upcoming.
- The Assigned To You tab is open by default and displays collaboration requests and any forms assigned to the applicant. Applicants can Accept, Continue, or Start any requests from this tab.
- Forms will be ordered by the due date if applicable; a red alarm clock icon will appear next to forms that have a due date within the next two weeks.

- Click the See Opportunities button to navigate to the Apply page where a new request can be started.
Request Section
The request section of the applicant dashboard contains the same request information in the To Do panel in four columns: Action Needed, No Action, Completed, and Historical. The search bar can be used to find specific requests from any column.
- The Action Needed column displays any forms that are due.
- The No Action column displays forms that do not need further action from the applicant as administrators process the request.
- A ribbon icon will appear next to approved requests.
- The Completed column displays requests that have been approved and have had all follow ups marked complete.
- The Historical column displays requests from the applicant that have been closed, denied, or abandoned.
The actions listed below can be taken from each column:
- Click on a request card header to go to the request summary and view any decision and award details associated with the request.
- The visibility of these details depends upon your site settings.
- Detailed information on this setting can be found in Show Decision Status and Award Details.
- The Project Name is listed under the request card header.
- The search bar can be used to search for a project name within the dashboard.
- Click the document drop-down menu to view and access all forms and files associated with the request.
- If there are any incomplete third party requests associated with the form, a red third party icon will appear. Hover over it to see the completion status.
- Click on your name in the upper right corner and then click Edit Organization to edit your organization's information.
Warn Applicant of Existing Request Message
Warn Applicants of Existing Request popup is designed to help prevent an applicant from creating more than one request in the same process.
- On the Apply page, the Apply button for the process in which they have already created a request will appear as a white Applied button with a green checkmark.
- This is meant to discourage the applicant from clicking the button again, but they can still click it and start a new request if they choose to do so.
