Donation advisor, which is commonly used as soft credit, can be applied to a donation made by one profile in order to recognize it under another profile. Hard credit goes to the account or donor who actually made the donation. Soft credit is given to one who receives credit for the donation. When donation advisor is applied, the donation appears under Advised Donation in the donation advisor's donor designation.
Donation reporting in CommunitySuite reports on the hard credit donor with one exception. The donor rollup report automatically shifts the donation to the advisor.
If the donor needs a tax receipt that has to be printed/sent/emailed generated out of CommunitySuite, it needs to be done prior to adding the donation advisor. If a tax receipt is generated after a donation advisor is added to a donation, select merge fields will pull in the advisor information rather than the donor information.
